Senior Travel Consultant job in Cape Town within the luxury travel industry, offering up to R55,000 per month DOE. This is a hands-on itinerary design and costing role covering Southern Africa tailor-made travel, quoting, internal client relationships and supplier management within a long-established, award-winning tour operator.

Our client is a long-established, award-winning luxury tour operator designing fully bespoke, tailor-made journeys. Family values sit at the heart of the business, and the guest experience, together with a strong internal client relationship, is central to everything they do.
They are now seeking Senior Travel Consultants to join the reservations team in newly created roles. You will be responsible for the full scope of itinerary design and accurate costing, while maintaining seamless communication with internal clients and demonstrating meticulous attention to detail from the initial quoting stage onward.
▌ The Role
In this role, you will take ownership of itinerary design, costing and quoting for Southern Africa, delivering accurate, high-quality service to internal clients and supporting wider business objectives.
– Create tailor-made luxury itineraries across Southern Africa
– Prepare accurate, competitive costings aligned to client budgets and preferences
– Handle quote enquiries from query stage through to confirmation, aiming for a high conversion rate
– Act as primary point of contact for internal clients and, where required, external partners
– Check accommodation and flight availability and manage provisional holds and release dates
– Deliver same-day quote turnarounds, keeping internal clients updated on progress
– Promote company enhancements and unique experiences within every proposal
– Build and maintain relationships with supplier partners
– Keep up to date on luxury properties, experiences and logistics, and support junior consultants with destination knowledge
– Hand over confirmed bookings in full detail to the colleague managing the booking
– Contribute to product development and improvements to systems, processes and service delivery
▌ Experience Required
– Southern Africa inbound tour operating experience (5 years preferable)
– Strong Southern Africa product knowledge and travel experience
– Travel sales experience, ideally selling to an internal business client
– Tourplan experience
– CRM and operating systems experience, plus MS Office
– High attention to detail, strong numerical and administration skills
– Excellent written and verbal communication, negotiation and relationship management skills
– Able to multi-task and problem solve under pressure
